My Story into Hypnotherapy
From a young age of I have held a fascination with the subject of hypnosis and becoming a hypnotherapist. As a young boy living and growing up in Cambuslang, Glasgow, I can remember attempting to use hypnosis on members of my family, determined that could figure out how this fascinating process of hypnosis worked and learn how to become a hypnotherapist.
At the age of 17 when starting college in East Kilbride, I headed for the local library (pre internet), and rather than taking out books on the subject I was studying at college, I decided to seek out books on the subject of hypnosis. The selection was pretty limited, only finding 2 books. It gave me my first start into developing my skills in hypnotherapy however and becoming a hypnotherapist.
I would love to say that my first attempts of utilising hypnosis were for therapeutic purposes, however to be perfectly honest, I had my brother picking out imaginary daisies from the carpet and having a friend dance around thinking he was a member of then popular boy band Take That!
Although I continued to study hypnosis, for many years after leaving college, I carved a successful career out as an Accountant, eventually holding a senior position at a large national media company. I could never get away from the draw of hypnosis however and eventually decided to take the leap of faith, giving up the corporate world and following my passion in hypnosis and becoming a full time hypnotherapist.
Today I am dedicated to help others using my lifelong passion of hypnosis and hypnotherapy, knowing that I can use the skills that I have cultivated over the years to make positive fundamental changes to people’s lives. Hypnosis and the change work I help others achieve, brings me tremendous fulfilment in being able to witness how people can walk away from the sessions with dramatic life changing experiences.
Training and Experience in Hypnotherapy
I have spent many years researching hypnotherapy, exploring many aspects of hypnosis from the utilisation in helping with common issues including weight loss and fears and phobias, to the metaphysical aspect it offers.
I have also studied the subject, originally completing my certificate course with Cara - Centre of Transformational Learning in Buckinghamshire England.
I then completed my diploma with Dr Claire Jack PhD at The Academy of Integrated Hypnotherapy in Troon Scotland.
My training in both certificates were fully accredited with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) of whom I am now also affiliated with as a recognised practitioner.
I have also studied with many other trainers, including some internationally recognised leaders in the field of hypnotherapy. This allows me to keep up to date with the latest developments within hypnotherapy, and allows me to take this expertise to utilise it for the benefit the clients I work with.
I am proficient in the use of hypnosis and various other complimentary protocols for working with issues, such as anxiety, stress, phobias, smoking cessation, weight loss, confidence, motivation, low self-esteem and bereavement to name but a few.
I can offer a range of programs designed to suit your needs.
Sessions can be arranged one-to-one or via Skype.
